THE FIRST GUARD OF HONOUR OF THE NCC AFTER RECEIVING COLOURS.

The first Guard of Honour of the National Cadet Corps after receiving President’s and Corps Colours on 19th February 2023 was accorded to Hon Ranil Wickremesinghe, the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, at Royal College Colombo, at 0830 hours, on 22nd February 2023. For the first time Colours were moved out. The Royal College Colombo being the Alma meter of the Hon President, had organized this parade as a tribute to the first citizen of the country. Hon President as the chief guest and the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka Hon Dinesh Gunawardane and a number of VVIPs who are the past pupils of the Royal College, Colombo graced the occasion.Director, National Cadet Corps Brig GS Fonseka, Deputy Director Western Province, Col GDR Sarathchandra and the Commanding Officer, 3rd Battalion NCC, Lt Col Jagath Alvis represented the National Cadet Corps. Cadets of Royal College, Ananda, Nalanda, Isipathana, Asoka, St Joseph’s, and Sri Darmaloka Colleges took part in the Guard of Honour. Major VSS Gunawatdane NCC, the Officer in Charge of cadet platoons of Royal College, commanded the parade while Capt TSK Thanthulage NCC performed as Second In Command.
