NATIONAL CADET CORPS CELEBRATES THE 142ND ANNIVERSARY AT RANTAMBE.

The National Cadet Corps, being the premier institute of moulding and grooming future leaders and disciplined citizens to the nation, celebrated the 142nd Anniversary, on the 29th of April 2023. To celebrate the anniversary, Director, NCC Brig GS Fonseka USP psc and Coordinating Director of Police Cadet Division, all Principal Staff Officers, Staff Officers, Commanding Officers, Adjutants, Training Officers and a cross section of cadets arrived at the National Cadet Corps Training Centre, Rantambe.Commencing the rituals, the cadets accorded a Guard of Honour to the Director NCC, Brigadier GS Fonseka USP psc. The Guard of Honour was commanded by Capt Asanka Ranasinghe, 07th Bn, NCC and the Second in Command was Lt Dananjaya Bandara 02nd Bn, NCC. Subsequently, the Director NCC, Police Cadet Coordinating Director, all Principal Staff Officers, the senior most Commanding Officer and the Corps Regimental Sergeant Major paid a floral tribute to the monument of the ‘Unknown Cadet’ which has been built in honour of the fallen warheroes who sacrificed their lives to defend the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of our motherland and who had been cadets in their school days.Finally, the Director, all officers, Permanent Staff lnstructors and Cadets who attended the the anniversary celebrations attended an all ranks’ tea party which was organised at the Cadet Mess. While celebrating the 142nd anniversary, we must gratefully thank the President, State Minister of Defence, Secretary to the Ministry of Defence and all other key profiles who help, assist, motivate and guide us to render a better service to the nation by grooming and moulding more and more future leaders to Mother Lanka.
