As a part of the Anniversary celebrations, an Officers’ Friendly Cricket Tournament was held at the Old Parade Ground at the Training Centre on the 30th of April. Director NCC, Principal Staff Officers and Staff Officers took part in this cricket tournament, which made all officers friendly and cordial. Officers formed 04 teams.The first match was between the HQ team and the team formed by the officers of 16th to 38th Battalions.In this match, 16th to 38th Battalion Officers’ Team led by Lt Col Mahesh Bandara won and got qualified for the final match.The second match was between the Training Centre Team and Officers of 01 to 15th Battalions. Officers of 01 to 15th Battalions won the match and got qualified for the finals.The final encounter was between the officers of 01 to 15th Battalions and officers of 16th to 38th Battalions.Finally 01st to 15th Battalions led by Lt Col Sujeewa Godage won the tournament by 17 runs and won the award for the winners. Officers of 16th to 38th Battalion won the award for runners up. After a short entertainment program, officers had a special lunch at the Officers’ Mess marking the end of the 142nd Anniversary Celebrations.
