VISIT OF STATE MINISTER OF DEFENCE TO POLICE CADET DIVISION, KALUTARA.
State Minister of Defence, Hon Premitha Bandara Tennakoon paid an official visit to the Police Cadet Division, which is located in the Police Training School, Kalutara, in the morning session of 18 May 2023.

Sanjeewa Darmaratne, Senior Deputy Inspector General, Sabaragamuwa, Deputy Inspector General Sampath Kumara – Police Recruiting and Training and Senior Officers of the Police Training School welcomed the Minister.
Addressing the audience, the minister appreciated the service rendered by the Police Department for the betterment of the nation.
He emphasized the importance of cadeting for school students which inculcates good values in them.
Further he mentioned about the possible changes of the cadet syllabus, under the way forward plan. The minister pointed out the necessity of adding English language and personality development to the syllabus of cadets, with the vision of grooming a future generation which can face challenges and build up the nation in future.
He also emphasized the importance of introducing cadeting to the North and Eastern Provinces of Sri Lanka.
Setting up an intermediate camp in the North Central Province, for the benefit of the cadets of North and Eastern Provinces was highlighted in his speech.
