The first working day of the new year, 02nd Jan. 2023, had to be ceremonially commenced. All ranks of the Hq NCC lined up in the premises of HQ NCC at 0900 hrs. After hoisting the National and the Corps flags by the Brigadier Admin and Quartering, Brig. OMD Gunasinghe and the Inspector of Training Col HT Dewpura, the latter addressed the Officers, Other Ranks and the civilian staff, working in the Hq NCC. The Oath for the public servants was read by the Brigadier Corps Secretary Col Gamini Marapana. Principal Staff Officers at the HQ NCC, Brigadier Training Col AAG Abeysinghe, Col Admin and Quartering Col LDSP Samaratunge and the Commanding Officer of the Headquarters Battalion Col HDL Ravindra Kumara also graced the occasion.May 2023 be a successful year to all senior officers, officers, other rank instructors and cadets of the NCC, island wide!The Directors of Education, Principals, Teachers, and Coaches who help function cadet platoons in schools are equally remembered gratefully.Most importantly, the NCC make it an opportunity to thank the Hon. Minister of Defence, the State Minister of Defence, the Secretary Defence and all officers of the Ministry of Defence for their direction, guidance and allocation of valuable funds to function cadet platoons with the vision of making future leaders.The NCC being the premier institute of grooming, moulding and shaping up school going young buds of Sri Lanka, is ready to go ahead in the new year with new dimension.
