PROVINCIAL TRAINING CAMPS BY NATIONAL CADET CORPS

| The National Cadet Corps (NCC) has organized several provincial camps to select cadet platoons for Hermann Loos Challenge Trophy Camp scheduled to be conducted in October. These cadet platoons could not attend Assessment Camps at Rantambe Training as usual since the schools had been closed for few weeks due to security condition. Two such camps were conducted on 22nd and 23rd May at Sir Jhon Kothalawala Central College, Kurunegala and 30th and 31st May at Mahasen Maha Vidyalaya, Nikaweratiya with the participation of cadet platoons of 4th Battalion, Kurunegala. The Camps were successfully completed owing to the assistance extended by principals of respective schools. Director NCC Major General MMS Perera has taken fullest support from Army camps in the area to provide infrastructure for the said camps. Colonel Yamuna Hettiarachchi, Brigadier Training and Colonel Senaka Wijesuriya, Inspector of Training distributed certificates at the closing ceremonies respectively.
