Hon President Ranil Wickremesinghe graced as the Chief Guest of the Centenary Celebrations of Rahula College, Matara, on the 25th of April.On the arrival of the Hon President, he was warmly welcomed and received by the Principal of Rahula Vidyalaya Maj Sudath Samarawikrama NCC, the Directors of Education in the Hambantota District and the Director, NCC. The Boys’ Western Band of the school guided the President to the Saluting Dais and the Cadets of Rahula Vidyalaya, St. Servatius’ College, Mahinda Rajapaksha Vidyalaya and St. Thomas’ College Matara, accorded a Guard of Honour with President’s and Corps Colours to the President. Maj Sirisoma Prathapasinghe commanded the Guard of Honour with the Colour Squad and Capt MND Fernando performed as the the Second in Command. Director, National Cadet Corps Brig Sudantha Fonseka USP psc, Provincial Deputy Director (Acting), Lt Col Sujeewa Godage, Commanding Officer, Maj GMMTB Gamagedara and the officers of the 16th Battalion attended this occasion representing the National Cadet Corps.
