Col SKCWKMRG Marapana Commenced duties as the Brigadier Corps Secretary, NCC, at an auspicious time today.

  1. Col Gamini Marapana, hails from Kegalle, is a past pupil and a teacher of Kg/Pinnawala Central College, Rambukkana. He was enlisted to Intake – 03 of NCC, as a Probationary Officer in 1989.
  2. He started his career as a Platoon Commadander of 9th Battalion NCC and having mobilized to Sril Lanka Army in 1990, he performed duties as a Platoon Commander in 9th Bn. SLLI , Mailadi, Palai , Vavuniya , Nuwara Eliya and at Volunteer Force Training School, Diyatalawa. Later he was appointed the Adjutant of 9th Bn. NCC.
  3. As a Senior Officer, he was appointed the Commanding Officer, 17th Bn. NCC. Ampara, 06th Bn. NCC, Badulla, 9th Bn.NCC, Kegalle and was privileged to be the First Commanding Officer of the 36th Bn. NCC.
  4. Later he was appointed the SO I – Coordinating. NCC, SO I SUpply & Transport at Headquarters, NCC and before taking over duties as the BCS, he was the Deputy Director NCC to North Western Province,
