TWO NCC OFFICERS AND 12 CADETS VISIT NEW DELHI
Two NCC Officers (one gent and one lady) with 12 Cadets (06 boys and 06 girls) departed to India at PM hrs on 15 January 2024, to attend the Indian Republic Day Camp in New Delhi, under the Youth Exchange Programme among SAARC countries and on the invitation of the Director General, NCC India.These Officers and Cadets were selected to represent Sri Lanka and the National Cadet Corps by a Board of Senior Officers, under the supervision of the Director NCC.These Officers and Cadets will stay in India for two weeks attending key events including the Indian Republic Day Camp which will be followed by the Republic Day Parade and visiting important places such as lndian Parliament, Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Jaipur and paying calls on with high profiles in India such as the President, Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, Secretary of Defence, Director General of NCC India and several others.The Director and all ranks of the National Cadet Corps Sri Lanka pay gratitude with thanks to HE the President Mr. Ranil Wickremesinghe, all senior officers of High Commission of India in Sri Lanka, State Minister of Defence Mr. Premitha Bandara Tennakoon, National Security Advisor Mr Sagala Rathnayaka, Secretary of Defence General (Retd) Kamal Guneratne and all senior officers at the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Education who helped the NCC to send the above delegation to New Delhi, India representing Sri Lanka and the National Cadet Corps, giving our future leaders an international exposure with uncommon experiences of being in par with the counterparts of the other SAARC countries.
