History of 22 nd battalion

22nd Battalion of National cadet corps declared open by Lt.col adikari dupiuty director of north western province on 30.04.2012 at gamini vidyalaya – vavuniya.
o/3781 maj.Hangilipola assummed duties as the first Commanding officer of the battalion mean while capt. Dissanayaka was the first adjutant.
maj.karunadhipathi , Maj.ps senawirathna ,Maj.wijesundara and Officers of the battalion participated for the Occasion.
then o/4222 Maj.ilangasinghe after assuming duties as the commanding officer of the 22nd battalion . he planed to shift the battalion to old radio Ceylon co-operation building at Irattaperiyakulam with dedication of the officers of the battalion. then that building was arrogated to National cadet corps.
22nd Battalion was settled at the old radio Ceylon co-operation building at Irattaperiyakulam by o/4345 maj. EA ranjith as the Commanding officer.
